Client News: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (Brattleboro, VT) has names new Director of Risk Management

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital officials announced the hiring of Mary Ellen Esser, RN as Director of Risk Management, Patient Safety and Credentialing.

Esser has more than 15 years of experience in the field of medical risk management, performance improvement and infection control. Most recently, she was the Interim Director of Quality for Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, a 95 bed facility serving the needs of south-central New Mexico. Esser has also worked for major hospitals in both Washington, DC and Long Beach, CA and served as a consultant to health care facilities in Texas.

“Mary Ellen brings with her a depth of knowledge, experience and focus in the field of quality and risk management. BMH is very fortunate to have her on our team,” said BMH Chief Medical Officer, Kathleen McGraw, MD.

Client News: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Implements Unibased’s Surgery Management Solution

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), located in Brattleboro, VT, completed a successful implementation of Unibased’s market-leading surgery management solution, ForSite2020® periOperative Resource Management System (ORMS). This implementation marks the second successful go-live of Unibased products for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, as they are already benefiting from the use of Unibased’s award-winning ForSite2020® Resource Management System (RMS) enterprise scheduling solution, implemented in the midst of the devastating Hurricane Sandy that decimated the East Coast in late October 2012. (Unibased) announced today that Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), located in Brattleboro, VT, completed a successful implementation of Unibased’s market-leading ForSite2020® Resource Management System (RMS) in the midst of devastating Hurricane Sandy. Despite power outages and violent winds causing damage throughout the region, the go-live went on and did so successfully with no delay.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital implemented Unibased’s ForSite2020® Resource Management System (RMS) enterprise scheduling and access management solution to provide the physician and patient community with an enhanced consumer experience, improved resource utilization and streamlined coordination of care. The integrated solution will provide efficient scheduling and resource management for all patient services and departments including radiology, rehab and oncology, as well as coordinate follow-up care and post-discharge appointments to reduce costly readmissions. The comprehensive ForSite2020® solution insures revenue growth by improving workflow, productivity, business processes and operational efficiency to reduce costs and increase financial performance.

Press Release: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Selects Enterprise Scheduling and Surgery Management Solution from Unibased Systems Architecture

Unibased Systems Architecture, Inc. (Unibased) announced today that Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), in Brattleboro, VT, has signed an agreement to deploy its award-winning ForSite2020® solution suite, including ForSite2020® Resource Management System (RMS), ForSite2020® periOperative Resource Management System (ORMS) and ForSite Analytics business intelligence tool.  After an extensive evaluation process, BMH selected Unibased as the best solution available to provide the physician and patient community with an enhanced consumer experience, facilitating access management, enterprise scheduling, surgery management and business intelligence analytics across the BMH enterprise for improved resource utilization and streamlined coordination of care.

The integrated solution suite will provide coordinated scheduling for all patient services and departments including surgery and streamline the scheduling of pre-surgical diagnostic procedures to ensure they have been completed prior to the day of surgery, as well as efficiently coordinate follow-up care and post-discharge activities to eliminate costly readmissions.  Unibased’s comprehensive ForSite2020® solution insures revenue growth by efficient utilization of resources to reduce costs and increase operational efficiencies.  ForSite2020® will also play a key role in the implementation of an integrated electronic health record (EHR), seamlessly connecting the surrounding physician practice electronic medical records (EMRs) to the hospital’s lab and radiology services, utilizing the State of Vermont’s health information exchange (HIE), which is based on the Medicity platform.  The HIE and other methods of communication with the community will improve quality of care, patient safety and healthcare efficiency.  Unibased’s ForSite2020® solution will facilitate these objectives as well as improve the coordination of patient care, and the integration with the HIE will provide a platform for participating physicians to confirm patient schedules based upon requested services in an expeditious fashion, strengthening hospital physician alignment and consumer loyalty.
