Denise Jackson, RN, MSN, CNS, CRNFA was recently elected to the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses 2010-2011 Board of Directors at the AORN’s 57th Congress in Denver. The AORN is a national association committed to improving patient safety in the surgical setting.
Jackson is a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) and certified RN first assistant (CRNFA). She has been a perioperative nurse and a member of AORN for 26 years. Jackson also serves as a clinical instructor for the department of nursing at Angelo State University. "AORN represents more than 40,000 perioperative nurses across the United States and is the leader in advocating for excellence in perioperative nursing,” Jackson said. “The association’s Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices are the foundation of clinical nursing practice in Shannon Medical Center’s Department of Surgery."
